Workshop with Mischa Blanos | 6.06 | 11:00
Attuning between two music worlds, clubbing and concert halls, Mischa Blanos is set to introduce his own view on the alliance between Classical, Jazz and Electronic music.
Mischa Blanos is a Bucharest based pianist and composer. Raised in post-communist Romania, he grew up in a neighborhood where it was easy to get pulled into the wrong crowd. If football was the escape to a better life for the boys in City of God, for Mischa, it was the piano. Against all odds, he deed the script of his cultural bubble by choosing classical music, only to rebel again, fusing it with electronica and jazz.
Equally at home and on stages such as Opéra de Limoges, Centquatre-Paris, Rex Club Paris and Watergate Berlin, Blanos channels the same raw energy into both listening and dancing audiences. His Piano & Electronics project, featured on ARTE TV and BBC Radio, showcases his ability to reinvent the piano as an instrument of the 21st century.
His discography, spanning more than 15 releases, traces a restless journey: from the classical solo piano album Titans (2024) to his acoustic-electronic signature in City Jungle LP and Steppe EP released in 2021 on the French label InFiné, the club-driven Linear (2023), his original score for Ionesco’s The Bald Soprano (2022) and the contemporary classical Crossrhodes (2020) with clarinetist Khori Ander. In 2025, his performances include Pianeo Festival (DE), Gărâna Jazz Festival (RO) and Green Hours Jazz Festival (RO).
