In their program DICITION, airborne extended and Tamara Stajner explore the theme of language:
The pieces are based on texts that serve as more of a source of inspiration than a precise translation for the musical realization:
Parsa Zandi intertwines Persian poetry with airborne extended’s distinctive sound language; Vinko Globokar reads texts through tubes and imitates object sounds through speech; Anna Korsun has the musicians sing; Samir Amarouch captures bird language; and Esaias Järnegard attempts to translate the catatonic speech of the Swedish author Lars Norén into music.
Tamara Stajner combines the music with her own texts and collaborative improvisations to create a multifaceted linguistic space.
The PRISM concert series by airborne extended is gratefully supported by: BMWKMS, MA 7 City of Vienna Culture, SKE.
